WHAT IS FLUSH FINE?

Flush Fine is a high-speed, high-definition and low heat machining process pioneered by Makino. It combines high spindle speeds, ahigh feedrate matched with a shallow depth of cut, and precisely controlled high-pressure coolant or air to blast away chips and prevent heat build up in workpiece or tool.

To successfully apply Flush Fine, the following are required:

  1. Highly rigid, high-speed spindle.
  2. Superior motion control technology.
  3. Continuous, high-pressure coolant or forced air.
  4. CAM software to generate toolpaths for constant cutting volume.

This permits high-speed machining with greater thermal stability and chipcontrol, resulting in a high metal removal rate, superior accuracy andfinish, and longer tool life.
