MAKINO TO HOST ONLINE SEMINAR SERIES IN 2006
First quarter 2006 schedule announced

Mason, Ohio – December 2005 – Makino has announced that it will host a series of online seminars in 2006, employing Makino’s extensive experience in the metalcutting and die/mold industries to help shops compete in the global marketplace.

"It’s tough for a shop to close down for an entire day to come to an event," said Mark Rentschler, marketing manager at Makino. "Online seminars allow anyone with an internet connection to attend without losing a day of work."

"This format also allows us to archive the seminars at Makino.com for people to view at a later time. We’ll use this as a continuously-updated tool for shops to train new employees and implement new processes."

Seminar Concept
Makino’s online seminars will concentrate on areas such as machine tool integration and automation, machine tool technologies and metalcutting processes. Shop efficiency, getting the most out of your machine tools, asset utilization and many other processes will also be of focus.

Presentations will be given by Makino’s application engineers, product managers, and guest speakers invited by Makino to discuss business and shop efficiencies. The events will be held free of charge to registered attendees.

"We’ll show people how to get the most out of their machine tools and processes without requiring them to set foot outside their shop," said Bill Howard, product manager vertical machining centers for Makino.

Bill Howard will be presenting several times in 2006, including "Competing Globally in the Die/Mold Market" on February 16 and "Hard Milling Solutions" on March 9.
