MAKINO’S J66 AGILE MACHINING CENTER IS IDEAL FOR FLEXIBLE TRANSFER LINES

Makino’s J66 machining center provides the advantages offered by flexible high-speed machining. Agility coupled with superb spindle acceleration and fast feedrates will have manufacturers producing more parts per hour than conventional transfer line equipment.

A J66 cell gives today’s manufacturer the agility needed to respond to market changes and quickly meet volume requirements. A J66 Flexible Transfer Line (FTL) allows changeovers to new parts without settling for sub-optimal production volumes, and provides improved profitability.

Different parts can be machined easily by selecting a different toolpath program in the NC controller. The J66’s Professional 3 NC controller and easy-to-use graphic interface simplify programming of toolpaths for different parts and separate applications.

The J66’s advanced design places the x, y and z axes all behind the spindle, so it can move to meet the workpiece, making it ideal for use in FTLs.

The J66 comes standard with a 15-tool automatic tool changer. This allows extended operation at high speeds, changing tools rapidly while the FTL sustains high volume production. Additional tool holder options are available.

The J66 maintains thermal stability with advanced through-spindle and under-race coolant systems that prevent wear and inaccuracies caused by heat buildup. Chips are transported by highly efficient conveyors to a central chip disposal system or can be collected with stand-alone units.
