ONLINE SEMINAR LIBRARY INTRODUCED BY MAKINO
Mason, Ohio – May 2008 – Makino’s popular online seminar
program has led to the creation of a huge library of multimedia events. The
Makino Online Seminar Library is available at www.makino.com/library, and will serve
as a multimedia educational resource to further the manufacturing
competitiveness of North American shops.
“Our team
of applications engineers has broadcast over 60 webinars since this program’s
inception two years ago,” said Mark Rentschler, Makino’s marketing manager.
“And we’re scheduled to have over 100 by the end of 2008. This means we’ve
created an expansive library of highly technical information available for
anyone who wants to access it, free of charge.”
The Online
Seminar Library has been organized by topic to aid those looking to obtain
information on technologies, techniques or machining processes. Topics include
parts production, aerospace machining, die and mold machining, micromachining,
hardmilling, high speed machining techniques and technological advances.
Each new
live seminar consists of a 20-45 minute presentation and a Q&A session with
the speaker, and each archived event includes the entire presentation, a
transcript of the event, and an area where questions can be submitted that will
be answered via email. Registration is required to attend but all seminars are
presented free of charge.
Learning isn’t limited to trade
shows
“For many
shops, visiting a trade show has been the traditional way to obtain new
information on manufacturing technologies,” said Rentschler. “This library
offers a unique way for a busy shop to learn advanced machining techniques and
about new metalcutting technologies without leaving their shop.”
