Makino's EDM applications manager discusses HQSF™ Ram EDM slurry technology, employing an environmentally safe semi-conductive particle that is suspended in the spark gap to enhance machining speed and dramatically improve surface finishes. By reducing the heat-affected zone of the tool, there is less stress and heat damage to the tool, and HQSF produces a flatter, more accurate finish.
In the presentation, Makino goes over challenges Ram EDM users face and real-world examples where HQSF has eliminated polishing, shortened lead-times, and achieved surface finishes that are twice as fine as traditional Ram EDM processes.
