MMC2. Makino’s automation module

The MMC2 is a modular, automated material handling system that links Makino horizontal machining centers, pallet loaders and operators. A servo-controlled vehicle transports material to and from machines, with little, if any, operator intervention. Each system is completely flexible and can be designed for your facility using standard components. Its modular flexibility permits future expansion as needed.

Spindle utilization up to 95%

The Makino Machining Complex (MMC) assigns work and initiates operations automatically, based on machine and material availability, utilizing maximum spindle capabilities and monitoring all automated procedures. Up to 15 machining centers and four different work setting stations can be tied into the MMC. The system can handle up to 200 pallet stockers—stacked either one, two or three layers high—with an unlimited number of parts and fixtures.

The MMC2 system software features in-cell production scheduling, equipment status monitoring, NC program management, tool data management and reporting capability.

Flexible Makino Track Pallet Magazine (TPM)

The TPM is available for all Makino 1-Series product equipped with the Professional 5 Control. The TPM pallet system is flexible and can be configured based on your floor space requirements and production needs.

The TPM is available in 6, 8, 10, or 12 pallet configurations and can be integrated to the machine in either a T (perpendicular to the machine) or I (in-line to the machine) formation*.

Set priority level for each pallet

A central Work Setting Station (WSS) is included and allows the operator to load/unload parts into and out of the system from one location. The TPM is an ideal solution for companies that need a simple machining cell system approach for their manufacturing processes.
