Automation Systems:
For added productivity, Makino T-Series machines can also be integrated with an automatic pallet transfer and storage system in a highly flexible Makino Machining Complex (MMC2) for extended periods of unattended operation. This automation system assigns work and initiates operations automatically, maximizing spindle utilization for increased productivity.

ADVANTiGE™ Technology

Makino ADVANTiGE™ technology improves titanium productivity and tool life.

Low metal-removal rates and limited tool life are the traditional challenges facing those working with titanium. Makino overcomes these issues with ADVANTiGE, a comprehensive approach to titanium machining that includes a high-pressure, high-flow coolant system, vibration damping system, and a rigid machine and spindle construction. By improving spindle performance, coolant delivery, vibration damping, machine rigidity and cutting strategies, ADVANTiGE delivers significant improvements in productivity and tool life over conventional machining technologies.

 

Key ADVANTiGE Technologies:

Autonomic Spindle Technology uses spindle sensors to measure displacement caused by excessive cutting forces. Feedback is instantaneously sent to the Professional 5 control, where processing characteristics are adapted to the current machining conditions, protecting both the spindle part and tooling.

High-pressure, high-flow coolant system delivers large volumes of high-pressure coolant directly to the cutting zone for increased chip evacuation, particularly with multi-flute tools. Coolant system includes overhead shower, spindle nozzle and through-spindle coolant for improved cooling, lubrication and chip evacuation in titanium parts.

A vibration damping system adjusts frictional forces based on low-frequency vibration sensing to avoid chatter and cutter damage resulting from structure resonance in real time. Vibration suppression enables deeper cuts, higher metal-removal rates and reduced tool wear.

The rigid construction of ADVANTiGE-enhanced machinery provides a solid, reliable platform for all other technologies, further suppressing vibration for reduced tool chipping and improved metal-removal rates.
