Makino V77

HIGH ACCURACY, HIGH SPEED AND HIGH PERFORMANCE VERTICAL MACHINING

MASON, OH"September, 2001" Efforts to minimize thermal distortion for part precision and enhance higher quality finishes on die/mold output has led to the creation of the V77 from Makino, the newest in the line of vertical milling machines. The V77 has the same high performance capabilities as the V33 and V55 machines, while also maintaining the high quality and accuracy parameters of Makino milling machines in a space and an energy saving package.

The V77 provides environmentally-controlled machine accuracy enhancements, such as Makino™s patented core cooled, under-race lubrication system which minimizes spindle distortion and twin shield-style splashguards which reduces the effect of temperature change in the factory. Available with either a 40 Taper - 20,000 RPM or a 50 Taper - 12,000 / 18,000 RPM spindle, the V77 can rough and finish hardened steel cavities/cores far more efficiently than general purpose machines. Rigid linear guides and twin ball screws are adopted for the Y-axis for a work piece up to 2.5 ton.

The three-trough style of chip removal is standard, which has nine holes in the table to smoothly discharge large volume chips via three hinge-type conveyors. The 20 m/minute feedrate operates on a table which can handle workpieces of 1,400 mm (55.1") width, 700 mm (27.6") depth and 500 mm (19.7") height from a work table 850 mm (33.5") from the floor.

The V77 is ideal for use by medium and smaller mold makers on automotive and household appliance work. And, it is also targeted to precision parts manufacturers for such markets as semiconductor production machine building.

Makino™s proprietary, next generation Super Geometric Intelligence (SGI.3) servo control delivers the lowest cycle times achievable while maintaining exceptional accuracy and producing finishes that only a machine designed specifically for a die/mold application can provide.
