Will provide Makino sales, service and applications engineering support to Canada
TORONTO, CANADA – March 2007 – Makino is pleased to announce the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Canada providing sales, service and applications engineering support for the Canadian market. The Makino subsidiary will be called Single Source Technologies (SST) Canada, with technical centers in Toronto and Montreal.
“Canadian Makino users will have a new partner in the coming months,” said Tom Clark, Vice President of Makino. “We’re excited to bring our applications expertise and the best machine tools available to the Canadian market through SST Canada.”
SST Canada will join other Single Source Technology companies, including one located in Auburn Hills, Michigan and another in Huntsville, Alabama as a distributor of Makino products and services.
The formation of SST Canada was prompted by the recent acquisition of UBJ-Boehringer Inc by the MAG Industrial Automation Systems. The separation from UBJ is amicable and Makino appreciates all that UBJ accomplished for Makino in Canada. Makino will work with UBJ during the transition to provide continuing support for Makino products in Canada. “We’re committed to support Canadian customers and the over 500 machines installed in Canada,” added Clark. Customers can call 1-888-Makino-4 (1-888-625-4664) for service and support, and 1-888-Makino1 (1-888-625-4661) for parts ordering. Customers can also order parts, take online training courses, and contact customer service on the web at www.makino.com.
