Pallet Pool Systems
Automated systems don’t have to be complex for companies to realize a competitive advantage. Simple automation technologies, such as Makino pallet pool systems, enable manufacturers to maximize the utilization and flexibility of their equipment without the cost or complexity. This capability is particularly advantageous when working with short-run, high product mix production applications.
Makino pallet pool systems are available in a variety of configurations for optimal productivity per square foot of floor space. Their multi-layer design offers capacity for a wide range of production demands, including a standard single-layer system with seven pallets, a three-layer system with 21 pallets and a five-layer system with 35 pallets. The standard configuration for each system features a single work setting station (WSS) for convenient loading and unloading. When connected to a 40-taper machine, single-layer systems can be configured with one WSS and 7 pallets, or 8 pallets with each stocker stand acting as a WSS of its own. All pallet pool systems feature a basic control system that associates pallet numbers with a program number to allow for scheduling prioritization.
Makino pallet pool systems are also complemented by available Makino Engineering Services
, which offers decades of experience in the integration of automated systems, as well as application support to ensure the highest levels of productivity and efficiency.
Manufacturers with long-term aspirations for quick expansion of automated capabilities may also be interest in the Makino Machining Complex (MMC2). The MMC2 offers all of the advantages of a Makino pallet pool system, but with the added benefit of a modular design that allows for fast and affordable expansion and a more powerful cell controller for greater scheduling flexibility and efficiency.
