Summary
A V22 high precision vertical machining center was chosen to machine the part from roughing to finishing. The machining process began with top face roughing of the part using a 15-mm Pokholm face mill at 7500RPM. The outside perimeter was then machined with a 1.3-mm ball-nosed endmill running at 30,000RPM. Development of the part's micro channels and part finishing were completed with 0.200-mm ball-nosed endmills at 40,000RPM.

The first piece article was provided within three weeks of the order, a 60-75 percent improvement over the previous two to three month MEMS processing lead time.
