Federal Reserve Sr. Economist to Speak at Makino’s Die Mold Expo

Will discuss the changing structure of the US Auto Industry and how it will affect tier-1 suppliers

Auburn Hills, Michigan – July 2007 – Makino has added a speaker to its 2007 Die Mold Expo, to be held September 25-27, 2007 at Makino’s Auburn Hills, Michigan Die Mold Tech Center.

Thomas H. Klier – Senior Economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will discuss the changing structure of the U.S. auto industry and how it’s anticipated to impact tier 1 suppliers.

Thomas H. Klier is a senior economist in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Klier’s research interests include the effects of changes in manufacturing technology, the structure of the auto industy, the spatial distribution of ecomonic activity, and regional economic development. Since joining the Chicago Fed in 1992, Klier has written widely on the evolving geography of the auto industry.

Klier received his M.B.A. from Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and a Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University.
