Makino Technology Expo 2013 to Feature Speakers and Demonstrations on Techniques That Enhance Manufacturing Productivity
Auburn Hills, Michigan – July 23, 2013 – Makino is pleased to announce a two-day event giving attendees the opportunity to learn about new manufacturing processes, techniques, philosophies and strategies vital to transforming their business for greater success in the global marketplace. The Makino Technology Expo is slated to take place Sept. 11 and 12, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in its Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Mich.
The biennial event is set to include demonstrations of Makino’s latest high-precision machining centers, including the new U3 and U6 wire EDM platforms, and features guest presentations addressing topics geared toward enhancing productivity in the tool, die, mold, medical and precision component industries.

–Laurie Harbour, President and CEO, Harbour Results Inc. – Laurie Harbour is president and CEO of Harbour Results Inc. and has 20 years of experience in strategic planning, benchmarking, operational assessments, lean manufacturing and performance enhancement. Laurie works closely with automotive and manufacturing companies and their suppliers, analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, identifying existing gaps and risks, and developing a tactical transformation to achieve sustainable improvements, ultimately mitigating risk and improving the health of organizations. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, is the president of the Society of Automotive Analysts, and is on the board of directors of the Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors (MAPP).
