Machine Status Insight - MSI

Machine Status Insight continuously monitors and visualizes key machine systems, giving maintenance and production teams greater visibility into machine condition and performance trends.

Available on machines equipped with the Pro6 control, MSI provides diagnostic information directly at the machine. When combined with Makino MAS-3i monitoring software MSI status can also be viewed across multiple connected machines from a networked PC.

Feed Axis Diagnosis
Tracks the long-term stability of the machine's linear axes to identify changes associated with payload, ball screw wear and other operating conditions.  When changes are detected, the system can indicate when GI Turning should be performed to optimize linear motion performance.

Spindle Diagnosis
Monitors and displays spindle vibration levels in real time while maintaining historical vibration data. Tracking changes over time can help identify potential bearing damage or degradation and provide maintenance teams with greater insight into spindle condition.

Coolant Diagnosis
Monitors coolant flow rate and temperature for nozzle and overhead shower coolant systems, with two weeks of historical data displayed graphically temperature trends provide visibility into conditions that can affect workpiece quality, while reductions in flow can provide an early indication of filter clogging or other changes within the coolant system

Hydraulic Diagnosis
Displays hydraulic oil pressure and temperature in real time and maintains two weeks of historical trend data.  This longer-term view can reveal gradual pressure changes that may be difficult to recognize through daily checks, while changes in hydraulic oil temperature can provide an early indication of developing cooling-unit or pump issues.
