EDM Hole Drilling

User-friendly controls and machine intelligence fuel accuracy and increased quality for every part.

EDM hole drilling uses an electrode in a rotating tube to deliver a pressurized stream of dielectric fluid for fast, accurate drilling in metals too hard for twist-drill machining. Makino EDMs are designed to be more precise, more reliable and have lower consumables costs.

Machine Highlights

Touchscreen control

Makino EDMs stand apart with the intuitive Hyper-i control system, a streamlined and efficient interface that helps you get work done faster with fewer errors. A high definition 24” touch screen functions like a tablet, so operators of all skill levels have digital user manuals, help functions, and video training tutorials at their fingertips. You’ll improve user capability and productivity while reducing the need for training and classes.

All models use a stationary work table design and a 3-sided rise and fall drop tank for easy automation and enhanced productivity.

EDFH-Series

With pinpoint sub-micron precision and outstanding surface finish, these are ideal for small electronics and micromachining applications. Built on the EDAC-1 machine platform, the machine can perform ultra-high precision ram EDM operations as well as small hole drilling.

EDAF-Series

With a focus on high-precision small hole drilling and excellent edge quality, these also have the flexibility to execute standard ram EDM operations.

EDBV-Series

Designed for high-volume production these precise machines achieve the fastest speeds with multi-axis contour machining to produce shaped hole features common to turbine engine components.
